About Me

I found my vision for coaching at a very young age coaching a grass roots club run by parents. I quickly made up my mind that I wanted to develop elite players and then coach at the highest level. I have been fortunate enough to work alongside very talented players in academies and at 1st team level. In 2013 I was hand selected as one of sixteen candidates to work towards the Elite Coaches Award delivered by the late Dick Bate. In 2016 I completed the prestigious UEFA Pro License where I completed a study ‘What is a Maverick and how do you get the best out of them?’. The two courses really helped test and stretch my capabilities and help me identify a clear coaching philosophy. In my 20 years of coaching I have now coached every age group, worked in 4 different countries (England, UAE, China & Taiwan) and I wanted to create this website to share some of my findings.
Philosophy:
-I believe the training environment should be as close to the game environment as possible.
-Sessions should be educational, challenging and realistic.
-When working with players it is important you identify who you are working with, what their dream is and what you can do to help add value to their development ?
Achievements:
Taiwan National Team (Assistant Manger working alongside Gary White)
-Highest FIFA Ranking in their history.
-7/7 Home wins.
-Formosa Champions (First trophy in 49 years).
Shanghai Shenxin FC (Assistant Manager working alongside Gary White).
-Saved the club from relegation to maintain China League One status.
